Luke 19:15-27

What Happened To the Other Seven?

Luke 19:15-27 when he returned after receiving the kingdom he ordered that these slaves to whom he had given the money be called to him so that he might know what business they had done the first appeared, saying master, your mina has made ten minas more and he said to him, well done good slave because you have been faithful in a very little thing you are to be in authority over ten cities the second came, saying your mina, master, has made five minas and he said to him also and you are to be over five cities another came, saying master, here is your mina which I kept put away in a handkerchief for I was afraid of you because you are an exacting man you take up what you did not lay down and reap what you did not sow he said to him by your own words I will judge you you worthless slave did you know that I am an exacting man taking up what I did not lay down and reaping what I did not sow then why did you not put my money in the bank, and having come I would have collected it with interest then he said to the bystanders take the mina away from him and give it to the one who has the ten minas and they said to him master he has ten minas already I tell you that to everyone who has more shall be given but from the one who does not have even what he does have shall be taken away but these enemies of mine who did not want me to reign over them bring them here and slay them in my presence wow that seems harsh why did Yeshua say that what is He honoring He’s honoring 3 qualities those who have servant hearts who are not out for themselves who are willing to bow under the authority of others to be servants He’s honoring those who are faithful and He’s honoring those who learn to multiply what’s very interesting here again is he invited 10 people to come to an accountability meeting only 7 showed up we only hear about 3 what happened to the other 7 if it’s like today my guess would be 3 of them probably spent all the money they had spent the master’s money and had zero left and the other 4 probably not only spent it they borrowed against it and owed another 3 to a bank this would be the common scenario today these were not ones who were faithful what happened to the man who buried the master said to him take away what he has and give it to the one who has 10 and they said but he already has 10 why should we give him more and the answer is because if you give a man who knows how to multiply who is faithful more what will he do with it multiply it even more if you give a man who does not know how to multiply something what will he do bury it and it will not multiply again Genesis 1:28 the very first command in the Bible God said to all of mankind two things we’re to do on this earth be fruitful and multiply God is a God of multiplication we’re created in His image we’re also meant to multiply the hardest thing that I discovered in business or in church is to stop doing the work and go and find others I can train others I can teach that is the hardest paradigm shift do you know how Mother Theresa ended up with some 623 missions around the world at the time she passed away and moved to heaven one day she had to make a decision to stop working herself and train other leaders to work and then to stop overseeing the work she was doing in the first city and give that to someone else and go and start a work in another city and another city and another city she had to trust God to use the people at her disposal I found that’s the hardest thing in leadership in growing am I willing to turn things over to others and allow them to lead even though they might not do it quite as well as I do if you don’t learn to do that you’ll never grow the key to growth is work less with less people and lead more instead of working harder yourself the way that you multiply is you work less hard at actually doing the work identify the leaders pour into those who are faithful and those who can train others who can train others, who can train others and that’s how multiplication takes place this is the principle in Luke 19 of multiplication stop doing all the work yourself find other leaders give them qualification tests give them accountability and then work with those who are faithful and can multiply if I were a pastor and I wanted to have a small group cell group ministry I’d call a meeting at 5:00 in the morning see who showed up that’s how I begin to qualify who’s faithful I’d give those who showed up an assignment bring 5 more couples next week I’d see who brings 5 more couples that demonstrates who can multiply I’d pour my energy into those who show up for the first and the second meeting and brought someone else that’s how you qualify people that’s how you multiply if you do all the work yourself you’ll never multiply this is the principle from Luke 19 let’s pray Father I pray today for each one listening I pray for you for an anointing to multiply in the areas God has called you to multiply I release upon you an anointing to train, to teach to identify those who are servants to identify those who are faithful those who can multiply I release an anointing to have spiritual children an anointing to multiply in every area God has called you to I pray blessing and multiplication upon you in the mighty name of Yeshua Amen
