Yeshua is Worth it All

Transcript

Philippians 3:7-8 but whatever things were gain to me those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ more than that I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ Paul is saying here that Yeshua and relationship with Him is worth everything when I first met the LORD in 1972 I thought I was a Christian because I went to church everyday of my life growing up I had the good attendance pin for being there every single sunday in a traditional church but I never had the idea that my whole life belonged to the LORD when I went away to college I met some people who’s whole entire life belonged to the LORD they had given Him everything permission to do whatever He wanted I realized that that was the key that gave them the ability to hear from God have intimate relationship with God and I desperately wanted that it was a struggle for me for a little while as I considered that am I really wiling to give the LORD everything I was 19 years old I was single I didn’t have a job yet I didn’t have a career yet I thought do you know giving my life to Jesus the Messiah means giving up everything it means I might never be married it means I might be called to live on a different continent in some impoverished place that I really don’t want to live I was looking forward to being married I was looking forward to having a career and I thought LORD if I give you my life you might take all of that away from me and what I realized is I had to be willing to do that you know what I thought before that that was just for priests and nuns and monks and special people I realized that’s the calling for every single person that’s what God wanted for everybody and I realized in my heart I really don’t trust God I’m afraid if I give my life to Him He’s going to take something away from me that I really want I didn’t know yet that God gives the desires of the heart to those who love Him I didn’t know that so it was a risk to me but finally when I made the decision I said LORD you get everything I’m willing to never be married or be married as you call me I’m willing to live in the United States where I grew up or I’d be willing to live on any other continent in any other country in a rural situation in a city, anywhere you want I’ll be a missionary I’ll be a pastor, I’ll be a business man I’ll be single,I’ll be married I will be like a coin in your pocket you can spend the rest of my life on anything that suits your desire I’m willing to serve the rest of my life at your pleasure since the day I made that decision that has never wavered or changed in my heart everyday of my life it has been my desire to please Him to be used as a coin in His pocket I encourage you to make that same decision if you never have I’ve never looked back and I’ve never been sad about it I have had more fun throughout my life since God became my travel agent than I ever would have had otherwise God has sent me to over 70 I don’t even know 70-80 different nations our ministry Family Foundations International we have permanent teams in over 50 nations around the world and that’s growing all the time I just have such a delightful time in life watching God do miracles God has opened doors for me to do things that I would have never been able to do on my own I found that when a person delights himself in the LORD God really does give him the desires of his heart even when Paul says I count all things to be loss I’m telling you it’s worth it once there was a man that was 20 -25 years older than I was that asked me once I believe when I was in my mid 30’s he was probably in his mid 50’s he said I’ve known you Craig for most of your adult life you could have gone into business you could have been very successful you could have been the CEO of a major company you had the training and the skill to be able to do that why didn’t you do that and I said to him the reason is have you ever seen that show a game show people are allowed to go into a grocery store and they dive for a pile of dollar bills and they can spend they grab as many as they want and they can spend as much as they want they hide different piles around here’s a pile of one dollar bills here’s a pile of 100 dollar bills I said you know what giving my life to the LORD Yeshua Ha Mashiach is like diving into the pile of 100 dollar bills that’s where the value is why would I just dive into the pile of one dollar bills and what I’m saying is this I’m not saying that being a minister or a full time person in ministry is more valuable than being a business man no I discovered that God has a calling for everyone of us if you’re a business man business woman that is a calling if you work as an employee in a company that is a calling God has called everyone of us to do that which we love to use our skills our abilities to serve humanity to serve other people that’s a calling but the point is this have you given your whole life to Him like Paul said in Philippians 3 to count all things as loss to say LORD you get it all I want to be found in you if you want me to be a businessman I’ll be a businessman if you want me to be a missionary I’ll be a missionary whatever it is LORD I give the rest of my life to you if you’ve never done that would you just pray this prayer with me and if you’ve done it before would you just affirm it by speaking this same prayer I want to lead you in prayer to give everything the whole rest of your life to Him let’s pray this Father right now together I say to you you get all of my life you get the rest of my life I’ll be like a coin in your pocket use me however you want to use me I acknowledge everything I have belongs to you everything I am belongs to you you get it all I commit my entire life to you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah Amen
