Deuteronomy12:22-25 just as a gazelle or a deer is eaten so you will eat it the unclean and the clean alike may eat of it only be sure not to eat the blood for the blood is the life and you shall not eat the life with the flesh you shall not eat it you shall pour it on the ground like water you shall not eat it so that it may be well with you and your sons after you and you will be doing what is right in the sight of the Lord that’s a very interesting scripture that says we should not eat blood or said to Israel Yahweh said don’t eat blood why? the life of the flesh is in the blood this is something that eastern people tend to understand that most of us as westerners do not understand and that is this life is in the blood of any being when eastern men would make a blood covenant with one another many times they would cut a vein in the arm or the hand co-mingle the blood and drink it to us as westerners that is awful that’s horrible for us the blood represents death but in an eastern mind and the mind of God blood represents life the spirit as it were the life is in the blood and so you have an eastern man for example what we would call a primitive or a tribal person that for example would see a lion and desire the power and the strength of that lion so what does he do? kill the lion and many times eat its heart and drink its blood why? because he understands the life is in the blood so therefore if I can take the blood drink the blood of that lion I attain the attributes to myself of the lion I get the lion’s courage I get the lion’s power that’s a covenant concept of people that understand the life is in the blood and that’s interesting here Yahweh told His people never eat blood why I don’t want you drinking the spirit of an animal I don’t want you drinking the life of that animal I don’t want you to take unto yourself the characteristics of a lion or a goat or a bull or a cow or any animal so you are not to eat the blood let me show you something really really interesting I don’t know if you’ve ever correlated this but over here in John 6 Yeshua says a very very interesting thing that’s shocking even to his disciples that pertains to this very thing down here in verse 53 Yeshua said to them truly truly I say to you unless you do eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood you have no life in yourself he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day what is He talking about? cannibalism of course not what he’s saying is my life, my power is in my blood now we have a ceremony or some call it a sacriment within many many churches where we receive what we call the Lord’s supper the body and the blood of the Lord and what are we doing? we’re remembering the covenant He made when He poured out His blood do you now what you’re doing? you’re not just eating a little cracker and drinking a little cup but what you’re actually doing is reaffirming a covenant that you made with him and you’re saying I receive unto myself your very life Yeshua Ha Mashiach your power your authority your love your character your gifts all that you have all that you are I receive by receiving your blood and all that I am I give to you and this is such a powerful thing to realize we’re not to eat or drink the blood of animals because we’re not to drink of the spirit of an animal but we are to receive the life of Yeshua Ha Mashiach himself to receive His power His life, His Character that is just awesome when you understand what are we doing in the Lord’s supper we’re receiving the life that’s in the blood of the one who gave His life, the Son of God the one who gave His life for you and that is just awesome I encourage you today to just meditate on that what has Jesus the Messiah made available to you by His blood what aspect of his character do you need to receive today whatever He has it’s available in His blood so I just want to pray Father I pray for each person listening I pray for you today that you would receive all that was given for you by the blood of Messiah that you would receive His character His anointing, His power, His life that as you partake of His blood you receive all that He has all that He died to purchase for you I pray this in the mighty name of Yeshua Amen
