Deuteronomy 28:1-14

The Blessings Purchased by Yeshua’s Obedience

Deuteronomy 28:1-14 now it shall be if you diligently obey the Lord your God being careful to do all his commandments which I command you today the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth all these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the Lord your God listen to all these blessings now that come and the thing that I want you to understand about this scripture today is these blessings come because of 100% obedience to the Lord you haven’t obeyed the Lord 100% but do you know that Jesus the Messiah has and because you’re in covenant with Him all these blessings come to you because He obeyed 100% so this scripture says these things will come upon you if you obey my word and here’s what you need to know because Yeshua Ha Mashiach Jesus the Messiah obeyed 100% He was 100% sinless that means every one of these blessings He purchased for you so as I read these I want to encourage you just listen to them let them sink in and grab hold of these these are for you here’s what it says these are the blessings purchased by the blood of Jesus blessed shall you be in the city and blessed shall you be in the country blessed shall be the offspring of your body and the produce of your ground and the offspring of your beasts the increase of your herd and the young of your flock blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl blessed shall you be when you come in and blessed shall you be when you go out the Lord shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways the Lord will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in all that you put your hand to and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you the Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself as He swore to you if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways so all the peoples of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord and they will be afraid of you the Lord will make you abound in prosperity in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your beast and in the produce of your ground in the land in which the Lord swore to your fathers to give you the Lord will open for you His good storehouse the heavens to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand and you shall lend to many nations but you shall not borrow the Lord will make you the head and not the tail and you only will be above and you will not be underneath if you listen to the commandment of the Lord your God which I charge you today to observe them carefully and do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today to the right or to the left to go after other gods and to serve them these are the promises the blessing of following God of walking in His Torah walking in His commandments it’s very interesting when God gave these commandments to Israel He actually gave them a visual picture He had six of the tribes stand on Mount Gerazim and the other six stand on Mount Ebal the ones on Mount Gerazim shouted the blessings of the law what we just read and the ones on Mount Ebal shouted the curses of the law you know the very first time I went to the place where Mount Ebal and Mount Gerazim are it’s in an ancient city called Shecham which is modern day Nablus in the West Bank in the Holy Land and you know Mount Gerazim is lush and green Mount Ebal is dry and barren and it’s like there’s a visual Mount Ebal is the cursed place Mount Gerazim the blessed place which would you like here’s a visual green lush place, dry barren place take your pick the blessing, and the curse and of course today what we understand is that we have been grafted into the covenant that was made by the blood of Jesus Messiah and as a result of that we’re partakers of all the blessings that He purchased for us so that is exciting to understand that today again is Shabbat I want to say to you Shabbat Shalom and Shabbat is a day that we set aside dedicate not like other days we set it aside to remember it to keep it holy what does that mean that means its just a day that we dedicate to the Lord we put aside other things and just spend our time before the Lord and in activities that God would call us to today that are different than what we do on the other days of the week so I just encourage you on this Shabbat today read back through Deuteronomy 28 you may want to just read that yourself again read all those blessings and let that just sink deep into your spirit what it is that Jesus Messiah has already purchased for you and as you go through your day today would you remember seek God with all your heart love Him bless people around you and you’ll make a huge difference in your environment Shabbat Shalom
