Numbers 29:12-16 then on the fifteenth day of the seventh month you shall have a holy convocation you shall do no laborious work and you shall observe a feast to the LORD for seven days you shall present a burnt offering an offering by fire as a soothing aroma to the LORD 13 bulls and 2 rams 14 male lambs 1 year old which are without defect and their grain offering fine flour mixed with oil three-tenths of an ephah for each of the 13 bulls two-tenths for each of the 2 rams a tenth for each of the 14 lambs and 1 male goat for a sin offering besides the continual burnt offering its grain offering and its drink offering so what this passage is talking about is Sukkot the feast of Sukkot or often times we know it as the feast of tabernacles and today is the first day of the feast of tabernacles and really this is probably the most common time that it’s thought Yeshua was actually born I know we celebrate that at a time we normally call Christmas which is during December but I think it’s pretty well established that Yeshua was not actually born during December but he was born most probably right now during the feast of tabernacles and of course the birth of Yeshua God coming to dwell with man coming to tabernacle with God fulfills that feast of tabernacles and as I’ve studied that out it seems like it’s the most likely time that Yeshua was actually probably born was sometime right around this time of year in the fall time during the feast of Tabernacles fulfilling that feast of course Constantine changed that in early 300’s he was anti semetic he hated Jewish people and Constantine who was a Roman emperor who claimed to become a Christian I don’t know his heart so I don’t know whether he really did or not I sort of have my doubts but anyway he wanted to rid the church and the followers of Yeshua Ha Mashiach Jesus the Messiah of anything Jewish anything Hebrew so he said let’s change the celebration of the birth of Messiah and let’s change the word Messiah and let’s call him Christ which is a Greek word that means anointed or rubbed in with oil and let’s change it to a festival that we already have going on which is the 25th of December it is the festival of Mithra the sun god throughout the Roman empire so we won’t have to change the festival and Constantine actually just syncretized the birth of Jesus the Messiah with the festival of Mithra which was the winter solstice on December 25th and that’s really how it got moved but I’m just sharing that with you because today is actually a day and during this next week to celebrate the birth of Yeshua the Messiah the one who came to eradicate our sin to reconcile us to God and this is the time we celebrate or this is the time actually we probably should celebrate His birth the time that He was born now the second thing that ‘s very interesting I just wrote this down so that I’d remember it tabernacles the feast of tabernacles was a time when the priest would go down to the pool of Siloam and he would take water and he would bring the water from the pool of Siloam back up to the temple and that would symbolize that when Messiah comes that the whole earth will know God and be covered with the knowledge of God as the water covers the sea that’s written in Isaiah 11:9 now when Yeshua attended the feast of tabernacles Himself as an adult in Jerusalem it’s very interesting here’s what He said in John 7:37 this is fairly well known to us but verse 37-38 now on the last day of the great day of the feast that’s the feast of tabernacles Jesus stood and cried out saying if anyone is thirsty let him come to me and drink and he who believes in Me as the scripture said from his innermost being will flow rivers of living water this he spoke this of the spirit whom those who believed in Him were to receive for the spirit was not yet given because Jesus was not yet glorified so here when Jesus Yeshua attended the feast of tabernacles Himself in Jerusalem and the priest brought the water up from the pool of Siloam into the temple to symbolize the knowledge of God would cover the earth as the waters cover the sea and Yeshua said basically I am Messiah and the Holy Spirit will be given as a result of the new covenant that’s made in my blood and poured out and not only will there just be a symbolic bringing up of water from the pool of Siloam but rivers of living water will flow out of your spirit and that is exactly what I believe that God wants to do for you today is release the power the rivers of living water flowing out of the Holy Spirit to touch people around you today bringing life to them bringing healing to them bringing blessing to them so as you go through your day today would you remember that today is that day where we are celebrating the rivers of living water it is the first day of the feast of tabernacles it’s a Shabbat and so I want to close by just saying to you Shabbat Shalom God Bless You
