Matthew 1:18-25

Yeshua is God with Us

Matthew 1:18-25 now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows when his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph before they came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit and Joseph her husband being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her planned to send her away secretly but when he had considered this behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit she will bear a son and you shall call His name Jesus or Yeshua in Hebrew for He will save His people from their sins now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son and they shall call His name Immanuel which translated means God with us and Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took Mary as his wife but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son and he called His name Yeshua or Jesus today is the day that the whole world celebrates the incarnation of Jesus the Messiah today is the day that around the world we celebrate and we sing about Yeshua coming to earth it probably isn’t actually the day that He was born He was probably actually born in fulfillment of maybe one of the fall feasts the feast of Sukkot or tabernacles most likely many scholars believe that He was actually born in October many times like a king has a birthday that is celebrated on a day just an appointed day not a day that was actually his birthday but an appointed day so today is a day like that when the world celebrates this day there is a negative side to it that’s probably important to understand as well back in the early 300’s the emperor Constantine allegedly became a Christian I don’t know whether he really did or not up until that time all the community of the followers of Jesus the Messiah they all followed the feasts that God appointed in Leviticus 25 but because it was basically initially a Jewish movement Constantine was a huge anti Semite and when he allegedly became a Christian he wanted to disconnect everything that had to do with Jesus the Jewish Messiah from anything Jewish so what he did he said we’re not going to celebrate the birth of Messiah at the time when it actually happened but there was a winter solstice festival that happened on the 25th of December through out all of the Roman empire in worship of the Sun god Mithra and Constantine said let’s just pull the name Mithra out and put the name Jesus in and we can continue those same winter solstice festival and that’s how we came to celebrate what he deemed Christmas or the birth of Yeshua at this time it’s just important point in history to understand that because I think what God is doing what Yahweh is doing in our day is reconnecting these events with the actual feast days so for example the resurrection of Messiah Constantine also disconnected from the feast of Passover which is God’s feast and connected it to the Pagan feast of the worship of the Babylonian goddess Ishtar or Easter and we call it that to this day God is just reconnecting these thing again so that we understand that but today is the day that the world has appointed to celebrate the birth of Jesus Yeshua the Messiah His name is Immanuel that’s what we just read Immanuel means God is with us so today is the day that we celebrate that God was incarnate in Yeshua Jesus the Messiah came to earth God only came as a man incarnate one time He didn’t come through Mohammed he didn’t come through Buddha he didn’t come through Moses He didn’t come through Ghandi He came through Yeshua the Messiah God Incarnate, Immanuel God is with us and Yeshua is the light that came into the world to bring light He’s the one that paid for our sins he died that we might have eternal life that our sins might be completely forgiven that we might live eternally with Yahweh that is an amazing amazing thing that we are celebrating today I just want to encourage you you might gather with your family this is a time when most families gather together and if you gather together today I would encourage you take opportunity to bless your family members maybe people that live at a distance that you haven’t seen recently take opportunity to just tell them the good things in their life to bless them if you’ve wounded anybody in your family children, parents, brothers and sisters today is a great day to repent to ask forgiveness to bring light and to celebrate God is with us Immanuel Jesus the Messiah to celebrate His birth it’s an appointed day throughout all the world to do that and to focus on Him so as you gather with your family today would you let Him be the center and the focus and use it as an opportunity to bless one another to pray for one another and to establish and bring a culture of blessing to your family Immanuel Jesus God is with us Yeshua the Messiah let’s celebrate Him I’d just like to pray Father we thank you that today families around the world are gathering celebrating the birth of Yeshua Jesus the Messiah LORD we celebrate with them we thank you so much for what you did for coming to earth for being that sacrifice to pay for us to pay for our sins thank you we celebrate today Immanuel God with us we worship you we give thanks to you Amen
