Do You Growl or Moan When Things Do not Go Your Way

Transcript

Isaiah 59:11-16 all of us growl like bears and moan sadly like doves we hope for justice but there is none for salvation but it is far from us for our transgressions are multiplied before You and our sins testify against us for our transgressions are with us and we know our iniquities transgressing and denying the Lord turning away from our God speaking oppression and revolt conceiving in and uttering from the heart lying words justice is turned back and righteousness stands far away for truth has stumbled in the street and uprightness cannot enter yes, truth is lacking and he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey now the Lord saw and it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice and He saw that there was no man and was astonished that there was no one to intercede then His own arm brought salvation to Him and His righteousness upheld him what do you do when things don’t go your way what do you do when somebody lies about you steals from you betrays you tries to hurt you does evil things to you God gave me a revelation one time when I was reading this scripture most people do one of two things and it’s in verse 11 they either growl like a bear or moan sadly like a dove some people lash out and get angry and bitter and fight you know it’s the fight or flight type of thing other people sit in a pit of self pity what can I do they stole from me they lied to me life is unfair so some people moan like a dove other people growl like a bear neither of those responses produces any change it doesn’t do anything it’s very interesting what we’re talking about in this chapter is injustice and all of us have suffered injustice all of us have had things happen to us that are wrong that are injust and some people growl like a bear some people moan like a dove but that really doesn’t change anything what we see in verse 15 is very interesting it says truth is lacking and he who turns aside from evil makes himself a prey now the Lord saw some people think God doesn’t see injustice no, no, no He sees all of it He sees injustice that happens to you and it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice that lets you know God’s attitude God hates injustice God doesn’t want injustice on the earth either but what is God looking for how does God deal with injustice and verse 16 actually gives us the answer what do you do with injustice what do you do with all the feelings that rise up this isn’t right somebody needs to do something about this and sometimes it’s not even on your own behalf but you see injustice in the lives of others and there’s anger and you want somebody to do something and it says right here in verse 16 He saw that there was no man and was astonished I mean think of that what astonishes God He knows everything He’s astonished that there was no one to intercede What is God looking for an intercessor what do you do with all that energy when injustice comes become an intercessor channel all that energy and passion into intercession pray for your enemies that God would change their hearts pray for those that have suffered injustice that mercy would be poured out upon them and that they would respond correctly you know injustice isn’t the end of the world many times injustice is a powerful motivating factor for change but it requires an intercessor and God is looking for those who are intercessors so what do you do when things don’t go your way what do you do when injustice happens don’t growl like a bear don’t moan like a dove don’t get in self pity don’t get angry and bitter don’t take things into your own hands and say I’ll fix this no, become an intercessor intercession releases God’s power on the earth to accomplish things that were in God’s heart in the very first place this is such a powerful key when I learned this changed a lot of things when things didn’t go my way injustice happens don’t growl, don’t moan become an intercessor begin to pray and you will watch God change things radically I’ve seen it many times one man told me the story he got a job in a grocery store had a boss who it seemed like everyday made it his business to make my friend’s life miserable and treated him with tremendous injustice my friend wanted to get his boss fired he had all kinds of thoughts in the end you know what he did he began to intercede and he began to bless do you know over a little period of time his boss gave his life to the Lord repented came to know the Lord they became good friends God totally changed the situation totally changed the man and my friend responded eventually not initially initially he growled like a bear and when that didn’t work he moaned like a dove and when he became an intercessor and began to bless that boss that’s when things changed and the same thing can happen for you and I just pray today Father I pray for my brothers and sisters that are suffering injustice today Lord that you would move them move every one of us from the place of growling like a bear moaning like a dove into that place of intercession where we can release your power with the authority that you’ve given us and see things change on planet earth Father I thank you that you also hate injustice that you don’t love it you don’t like it you don’t want it either but your eyes are searching to and fro throughout the earth looking for an intercessor Father if you’re looking for an intercessor look no further let us be that intercessor let me be that intercessor thank you God for what you want to do in my circumstance today in the name of Yeshua Amen
