Ezekiel 36:22-28 therefore say to the house of Israel thus says the Lord GOD It is not for your sake O house of Israel that I am about to act but for My Holy Name which you have profaned among the nations where you went I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations which you have profaned in their midst then the nations will know that I am the LORD declares the Lord GOD when I prove Myself Holy among you in their sight for I will take you from the nations gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land then I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and you will be careful to observe My ordinances you will live in the land that I gave to your forefathers so you will be My people and I will be your God God says to Israel it’s not for your sake that I’m about to act and He describes this incredible thing that He’s going to do through Messiah through the new covenant He’s going to give Israel a new heart and He’s going to give them a heart of flesh and He’s going to put His Torah in their spirit on the inside of them that they will naturally do it why is He going to do that He says it’s not for your sake it’s not because you’re so righteous it’s not because you’re so deserving He’s saying it’s for the sake of my name what does God’s name mean why does He have such great concern for His name very simple the name is indicative of the Character when His name is profaned or made common among the people in other words, what Israel did is there were called by God to demonstrate who the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is who is this living God that wants to relate to all people that wants to gather a vast family of men and women from every tribe every tongue, every nation across the face of this earth and He needs one people to demonstrate who He is so that people around the world would know who he is and be able to come to Him that was the calling upon Abraham and His sons and Daughters and progeny that was the calling upon the Jewish people was to demonstrate who God almighty is and that was God’s goal the problem is Israel wanted to be like everybody else so when they came into the land they just embraced the ways of the nations around them they embraced the gods of the nations around them the practices and instead of being a holy people which means the people that are dedicated set aside, separated everybody looks at them and says those guys are different they didn’t want to be different they wanted to be the same and in doing so they obscured the nature and the name and the character of God almighty so the nations around couldn’t know Him and that’s really what was at stake in His name He wanted Israel to demonstrate who He is so people could come into relationship with Him and what He’s saying here is I will act for the sake of my name for the sake of My honor My character that the nations around you might know who I Am that’s why I’m going to do what I’m going to do He’s going to do the same His intent, the intent of the Father is to do the same through us believers in Yeshua Ha Mashiach believers in Messiah and so our purpose is to demonstrate who He is not to be like everybody around us it should be that when they look at us as believers they go wow those people are different not different in a bad sense different in a sense that they’re pure they love people they love God they demonstrate His nature His Character, His love His kindness, His justice that’s who we’re to be is to demonstrate the name of the God that we serve so the message today is don’t fall into the same trap and mistake that Israel did which is becoming like everybody around you being conformed to the world around you because the consequence of that is people around you can’t know who the Father is we are the living word that people can read our lives are what demonstrate who God is, who Yeshua Jesus the Messiah is so today let your life be a testimony to who He is don’t be conformed to society around about you as you go through your life today love God with all your heart bless and be kind to the people around you and you will draw people to Him and they will know who He is God Bless you
