Leviticus 1:1-3

The Lord Calls You Daily

Leviticus 1:1-3 then the Lord called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting saying speak to the sons of Israel and say to them when any man of you brings an offering to the Lord you shall bring your offering of animals from the herd of the flock if his offering is a burnt offering from the herd he shall offer it a male without defect he shall offer it at the doorway of the tent of meeting that he may be accepted before the Lord Shabbat Shalom again today is a wonderful day of rest and refreshing I pray that you rest today that you put aside all the emotional burdens all the business things that you’re carrying all the family things you might be carrying and spend this day with God spend this day with your friends spend this day as a day of rest and refreshing what we see in this passage that God had spoken to Moses on the mountain before they’d always gone up to the mountain not they but Moses had gone up to the mountain and now God directed Israel to build a tabernacle and He is speaking now for the first time to Moses from the tabernacle and He talks about animal sacrifices which is a covenant to prepare Israel to understand and receive the new Covenant of the sacrifice of Messiah there’s always been a tension that I find all throughout the word of God and it’s just true in all of human history as to whether God has called us to relate to Him on the basis of our works on the basis of our righteousness of what we do or on the basis of covenant by the word that He spoke and the blood and here He’s talking about Leviticus talks about a lot of sacrifices animal sacrifices that are made in the tabernacle and what we need to understand is that we are now the tabernacle of the living God it’s not a tent as it was in the days of Moses it’s not a mountain as it was before the tent of the tabernacle He has come by His Holy Spirit to dwell in you and in me and He’s going to operate through us we are His tabernacle He wants to speak to us the second thing that’s critical is that we’re acceptable to God not based on our righteousness not based on our fulfilling all the things that are prescribed in Torah no we’re righteous and acceptable to God because Yeshua Jesus the Messiah fulfilled all righteousness in Torah He made a covenant and we’re grafted into His righteousness by His blood not by anything we ever do or fail to do two keys that I believe God wants us to see today that He is alive and He speaks to us today by His Holy Spirit we are His tabernacle we don’t have to go to a mountain we don’t have to go to Jerusalem we don’t have to go to a particular place no He’s alive and dwelling in us this very day and secondly you’re acceptable to God because of the blood of Messiah because of what Yeshua did not because of anything that you did or ever will do if you get a hold of those two revelations God is present He’s speaking to you today and you are acceptable to Him that’s what it says here in verse 3 that He may be acceptable before the LORD that was the purpose of these sacrifices Yeshua made a sacrifice that you might be acceptable before the LORD and today you are acceptable before the LORD because of the sacrifice of the blood of Yeshua powerful powerful revelation grab hold of that today and as you go through your day today would you just love God with all your heart bless the people around you make a difference in your environment and allow the Holy Spirit of God to speak to you today walk in confidence today because He loves you and you’re acceptable to Him Amen
