WEBVTT

00:07.585 --> 00:12.354
Exodus 18:17-23

00:12.354 --> 00:14.680
Moses' father-in-law said to him

00:14.680 --> 00:15.965
the thing that you are doing

00:15.965 --> 00:16.851
is not good

00:16.851 --> 00:18.550
you will surely wear out

00:18.550 --> 00:20.345
both yourself and these people

00:20.345 --> 00:21.422
who are with you

00:21.422 --> 00:23.427
for the task is too heavy for you

00:23.427 --> 00:24.912
you cannot do it alone

00:24.912 --> 00:26.094
now listen to me

00:26.094 --> 00:27.343
I will give you counsel

00:27.343 --> 00:28.858
and God be with you

00:28.858 --> 00:29.929
you be the people's

00:29.929 --> 00:31.607
representative before God

00:31.607 --> 00:33.737
and you bring the disputes to God

00:33.737 --> 00:35.325
then teach them the statutes

00:35.325 --> 00:37.287
and the laws and make known to them

00:37.287 --> 00:39.170
the way in which they are to walk

00:39.170 --> 00:40.844
and the work they are to do

00:40.844 --> 00:42.711
furthermore, you shall select

00:42.711 --> 00:44.042
out of all the people

00:44.042 --> 00:45.788
able men who fear God

00:45.788 --> 00:46.952
men of truth

00:46.952 --> 00:48.736
those who hate dishonest gain

00:48.736 --> 00:50.239
and you shall place these

00:50.239 --> 00:52.185
over them as leaders of thousands

00:52.185 --> 00:54.681
of hundreds, of fifties and of tens

00:54.681 --> 00:56.718
let them judge the people at all times

00:56.718 --> 00:58.856
and let it be that every major dispute

00:58.856 --> 01:00.071
they will bring to you

01:00.071 --> 01:01.730
but every minor dispute

01:01.730 --> 01:03.644
they themselves will judge

01:03.644 --> 01:05.352
so it will be easier for you

01:05.352 --> 01:07.402
and they will bear the burden with you

01:07.402 --> 01:08.549
if you do this thing

01:08.549 --> 01:10.068
and God so commands you

01:10.068 --> 01:11.990
then you will be able to endure

01:11.990 --> 01:14.039
and all these people will also

01:14.039 --> 01:17.689
go to their place in peace

01:17.689 --> 01:20.387
how do we become effective leaders

01:20.387 --> 01:23.867
God spoke to me years ago

01:23.867 --> 01:26.560
exactly what Moses' father in law

01:26.560 --> 01:28.245
Jethro told him God said this

01:28.245 --> 01:29.852
if you want to be more effective and

01:29.852 --> 01:31.248
you want to reach more people

01:31.248 --> 01:33.990
work less with less people

01:33.990 --> 01:36.230
that was the word God first gave me

01:36.230 --> 01:38.430
I said Lord what do you mean work less

01:38.430 --> 01:39.585
if I want to reach more people

01:39.585 --> 01:40.828
I should work more

01:40.828 --> 01:42.712
The LORD said No you work less

01:42.712 --> 01:46.082
and lead more and work with less people

01:46.097 --> 01:48.072
Moses was doing all the work himself

01:48.072 --> 01:50.232
and Jethro told him this isn't going to work

01:50.232 --> 01:51.870
you're going to have to appoint leaders

01:51.870 --> 01:52.847
and you're going to have to work

01:52.847 --> 01:53.813
through leaders

01:53.813 --> 01:55.809
otherwise you're going to wear yourself out

01:55.809 --> 01:57.761
you're going to wear the people out

01:57.761 --> 01:59.772
how do you work less with less people

01:59.772 --> 02:00.871
let me just give you an example

02:00.871 --> 02:01.837
in our ministry

02:01.837 --> 02:03.389
Family Foundations International

02:03.389 --> 02:05.574
we frequently do weekend seminars

02:05.574 --> 02:06.887
we have a person that's called

02:06.887 --> 02:08.336
a facilitator

02:08.336 --> 02:10.636
who manages a small group of 8 people

02:10.636 --> 02:12.281
and ministers to those 8 people

02:12.281 --> 02:13.810
in a very very deep way

02:13.810 --> 02:15.038
so if you're a facilitator

02:15.038 --> 02:17.159
and you do a seminar once a month

02:17.159 --> 02:18.484
you can touch the lives

02:18.484 --> 02:20.151
of 8 people very deeply

02:20.151 --> 02:21.532
if you want to reach more people

02:21.532 --> 02:22.415
what could you do

02:22.415 --> 02:24.497
you could do 2 seminars a month

02:24.505 --> 02:25.537
8 people you'd reach

02:25.537 --> 02:28.290
16 people but you'd start to get tired

02:28.290 --> 02:29.777
if you did 3 seminars a month

02:29.777 --> 02:31.406
you could reach 24 people

02:31.406 --> 02:33.317
but you'd be more tired

02:33.317 --> 02:35.453
but how could you increase

02:35.453 --> 02:37.814
instead of doing more seminars

02:37.814 --> 02:39.358
how about if you

02:39.358 --> 02:40.677
move to the next level

02:40.677 --> 02:41.899
of leadership and you become

02:41.899 --> 02:42.990
a seminar coordinator

02:42.990 --> 02:44.564
that's a person who manages

02:44.564 --> 02:46.397
a team of facilitators

02:46.397 --> 02:47.798
so suppose you train

02:47.798 --> 02:48.879
and become a coordinator

02:48.879 --> 02:51.541
you manage a team of 5 facilitators

02:51.541 --> 02:53.286
now you hold 1 seminar a month

02:53.286 --> 02:55.216
you coordinate 5 facilitators

02:55.216 --> 02:57.450
minister in each of the 5 small groups

02:57.450 --> 02:59.069
each reaching 8 people

02:59.069 --> 03:00.978
now you reach 40 people

03:00.978 --> 03:01.899
how many people are

03:01.899 --> 03:03.406
you working with now

03:03.406 --> 03:04.680
only 5

03:04.680 --> 03:06.303
how many seminars are you doing?

03:06.303 --> 03:07.529
only 1

03:07.529 --> 03:09.644
if you were doing 3 seminars before

03:09.644 --> 03:11.969
3 weekends in a row every month

03:11.969 --> 03:13.130
you're wearing yourself out

03:13.130 --> 03:15.134
and you're only reaching 24 people

03:15.134 --> 03:16.651
now you've got 5 other leaders

03:16.651 --> 03:17.718
working for you

03:17.718 --> 03:19.417
you're reaching 40 people

03:19.417 --> 03:21.272
before you were working with 24

03:21.272 --> 03:23.279
now you're working with 5

03:23.279 --> 03:24.844
but you're reaching 40

03:24.844 --> 03:26.479
if you want to increase

03:26.479 --> 03:27.834
you could take

03:27.834 --> 03:30.030
say 3 of your facilitators and

03:30.030 --> 03:31.237
find that they could be trained

03:31.237 --> 03:32.102
as coordinators

03:32.102 --> 03:34.502
and each of them have their own team

03:34.502 --> 03:36.110
that can each manage

03:36.110 --> 03:37.767
one seminar a month

03:37.767 --> 03:40.968
5 groups 8 people

03:40.968 --> 03:42.394
40 times 3

03:42.394 --> 03:44.098
120 people

03:44.098 --> 03:45.759
now how many people are you reaching

03:45.759 --> 03:46.562
120

03:46.562 --> 03:48.161
how many are you working with

03:48.161 --> 03:49.819
only 3

03:49.819 --> 03:51.991
you're working with less people

03:51.991 --> 03:54.516
but more leaders increasing

03:54.516 --> 03:56.300
and you could find that maybe

03:56.300 --> 03:58.351
two of those people could become

03:58.351 --> 03:59.863
the next level of leadership

03:59.863 --> 04:01.355
now you'd work with two of those

04:01.355 --> 04:03.310
who each have 3 leaders under them

04:03.310 --> 04:05.155
who each have a team of 5

04:05.155 --> 04:07.792
and you'd double you'd reach 240 people

04:07.792 --> 04:09.995
now you're only working with 2

04:09.995 --> 04:11.846
and that's how God explained to me

04:11.846 --> 04:13.966
work with less people

04:13.966 --> 04:15.322
but more leaders

04:15.322 --> 04:16.550
so how do you increase

04:16.550 --> 04:18.017
how do you reach more

04:18.017 --> 04:20.242
work less, lead more

04:20.242 --> 04:23.758
work less with less people

04:23.758 --> 04:26.404
how do you find these kind of leaders

04:26.404 --> 04:27.967
I just want to touch on this

04:27.967 --> 04:29.670
I wrote a lot about this in the book

04:29.670 --> 04:30.614
Five Wealth Secrets

04:30.614 --> 04:32.238
96% of us Don't Know

04:32.238 --> 04:34.524
but I learned from Matthew 20

04:34.524 --> 04:36.095
starting at 3 qualities

04:36.095 --> 04:37.770
you're looking for in these leaders

04:37.770 --> 04:39.245
how would you find these leaders

04:39.245 --> 04:41.043
like Jethro suggested Moses to find

04:41.043 --> 04:41.891
number 1

04:41.891 --> 04:44.219
Matthew 20:26-28

04:44.219 --> 04:46.265
talks about servants

04:46.265 --> 04:48.478
find people that have a servant heart

04:48.478 --> 04:50.668
then 2 Timothy 2:2

04:50.668 --> 04:52.564
gives us 2 other qualifications

04:52.564 --> 04:54.910
find people who are faithful

04:54.910 --> 04:56.462
and people who can teach others

04:56.462 --> 04:58.294
that means people who can multiply

04:58.294 --> 04:59.434
so what 3 qualities

04:59.434 --> 05:01.727
would I look for in leaders

05:01.727 --> 05:03.553
if I wanted to multiply and expand

05:03.553 --> 05:04.256
number 1

05:04.256 --> 05:05.636
people with servants hearts

05:05.650 --> 05:07.459
number 2 people who are faithful

05:07.459 --> 05:08.102
number 3

05:08.102 --> 05:09.654
people who have learned

05:09.654 --> 05:11.013
how to multiply

05:11.013 --> 05:12.006
and this is the wisdom

05:12.006 --> 05:13.791
that God gave to Jethro

05:13.791 --> 05:15.310
Pardon me

05:15.310 --> 05:17.838
God gave through Jethro to Moses

05:17.838 --> 05:18.738
and this is true

05:18.738 --> 05:20.399
whether you're running a business

05:20.399 --> 05:22.007
whether you're running a ministry

05:22.007 --> 05:24.082
a church any organization

05:24.082 --> 05:25.311
if you want to grow

05:25.311 --> 05:26.441
you're going to have to learn

05:26.441 --> 05:28.430
how to multiply through leaders

05:28.430 --> 05:29.557
you're going to have to be

05:29.557 --> 05:30.825
a more effective leader

05:30.825 --> 05:32.036
finding people who

05:32.036 --> 05:33.424
have those 3 qualities

05:33.424 --> 05:34.549
servant hearts

05:34.549 --> 05:35.402
faithful

05:35.402 --> 05:36.884
and they can multiply

05:36.884 --> 05:38.101
God bless you as you

05:38.101 --> 05:39.252
walk through your life today

05:39.252 --> 05:40.617
I just pray today

05:40.617 --> 05:41.397
that whatever God

05:41.397 --> 05:42.685
has called you to do

05:42.685 --> 05:44.597
He will take you to the next level

05:44.597 --> 05:45.771
of leadership

05:45.771 --> 05:47.278
and He will train you

05:47.278 --> 05:48.825
and give you wisdom

05:48.825 --> 05:50.525
how to expand and how to

05:50.525 --> 05:51.905
multiply in the area

05:51.905 --> 05:53.380
He has called you to

05:53.380 --> 05:54.105
I pray that

05:54.105 --> 05:55.650
in the mighty name of Yeshua

05:55.650 --> 05:57.256
Amen
