This week, we will have the privilege of having Pastor Mike Obadja from Chino, California share with us again.
Pastor Mike just finished writing a very powerful book called About Face that details a radical change that God has made in his life over the last two years.
I asked Pastor Mike to share with us this week his own experience that motivated him to write this life-impacting book and the profound impact the power of blessing has had upon his life and then, through him, multiplied into the lives of many others.
From the first time we met Pastor Mike and Mira we felt a kindred spirit with them and we observed that they were not just hearers of the Word but doers.
Below is a brief quote from the Prologue to Mike's book.
You can have a life that looks successful and still feel empty.
You can know Scripture from the inside out and still live in anxiety.
You can lead people, build things, make money, make progress… and still feel that quiet ache in your chest that says:
There has to be more than a life of performance.
There has to be more than being productive.
For a long time, I didn’t know how to name that ache.
I called it drive.
I called it ambition.
I called it calling.
I called it leadership.
But if I’m honest, a lot of what I was doing was trying to outrun the parts of me that felt unsafe and unfinished.
I didn’t realize how much of my life was built on coping.
How much of my gifting was actually self-protection.
How much of my performance was driven by fear and insecurity.
And God started doing what He always does when He loves you too much to let you stay where you are.
He invited me into a turn.
